Old Wives Tales

The collection of old wives tales below are based on my personal experience that I have tested over the years. However, I do not guarantee that they will or will not work for everybody.

Guiness Stout Myth

Most confinement ladies recommend bathing the newborn baby in Guiness Stout. Reason

This will reduce body heatiness.

True or False?

Answer: True

This is true but I strongly advise against using this method. A newborn baby’s skin is very thin therefore there is a very high possibility that the alcohol may be absorbed into the bloodstream and if the high alcohol reaches the brain it may cause irreversible damage. A safer option is to use the dried bitter gourd vine which is a vegetable so therefore is safer.
