A Hassle-Free Way To Wash Curtains
Most people put off washing their curtains because it is such a hassle, having to remove the hooks, wash and dry the curtains, put back the hooks and hang the curtains back up.
Let me show you a quick and easy way to wash your curtains.
Take the curtains down and soak in water for about half an hour to remove the dust etc. Leave the hooks on as this will also clean the hooks. Do not soak in soapy water as this may cause dirty looking patches. |
Take the top part of the curtain and roll it with the hooks on the inside to prevent them falling out during the wash. |
Fold the top over and wrap it with the rest of the curtain |
Once the top with the hooks inside is wrapped nicely put the curtain into the washing machine. Add the detergent and start washing. |
When the curtains are washed, remove from the washing machine and hang them back up immediately. Make sure to straighten any folds. The dampness of the curtains will prevent any creases forming. |
The curtains should be left in the closed position until they are dry which takes about a couple of hours. To speed up the drying time, leave a fan on or open the windows. |
I have used this method for the last 30 years and I never had to spend any money sending my curtains to the launderette.
